As a resident of the town of Tinmouth I am in opposition of this radio tower. As was stated by my neighbors, this tower is not in compliance with official town plan, which we have developed to specifically negate these sorts of structures. Aditionally, I have genuine concern that the tower will be harmful to the Tinmouth Channel, a class 1 wetland. It will also be of little to no benefit of us here in town, and will harm the stunning view I have enjoyed my entire life.

I am a Tinmouth resident and oppose the radio tower. Technology is changing so fast that the proposed tower will be an obsolete eyesore in 20 years or less. Don’t ruin the beautiful character of our rural valley for very little gain.

I am fortunate to be part of the Tinmouth community that lives with many special natural resources. Thoughtful townspeople have prepared zoning & town plans to establish criteria for maintaining our town character. Unfortunately this tower project is outside the bounds of the zoning rules & has been rejected by our planning commission & elected representatives. This tower project should find a new location and not be allowed to go forward based on it's current plan.

I live in Tinmouth and attended the town meeting about this tower, where there was overwhelming opposition to it from the community. So why is ITW moving ahead with the tower when the community and its elected officials are against it? I am opposed to the project moving forward. It will be an eyesore as you enter the community, a threat to our beloved channel and simply not wanted here.

Dear Vermont Public Utility Commission,
I am a resident of the Town of Tinmouth and I oppose ITW's proposal to build a radio/cell tower here. Our neighbors have so eloquently described in their comments the myriad of issues relative to the safety and environmental impacts that this tower poses, as well as this being the antithesis of the Tinmouth Town Plan and Telecommunication Bylaws. Please respect our voices and deny this application.
Respectfully submitted,
Ann Lundquist

I am a resident of Tinmouth, and I oppose ITW's proposal. One of the defining characteristics of our town is its long-term commitment to conservation and preservation of the natural landscape. The Tinmouth Channel is a Class 1 wetland and a state and town treasure. To build a 170 foot tower in the middle of it would not serve the public good and would be contrary to the values defined in the Tinmouth Town Plan and Bylaws. Please respect our Select Board and PC's ruling and deny ITW's proposal.

I oppose the construction of a radio tower in Tinmouth VT. It is not essential to our safety, will not spur investment by mobile carriers, and detracts from the pastoral beauty of the town.

The proposed Tinmouth radio tower is not in keeping with the wishes of our residents or the town's plans. It provides no benefit to residents and therefore is solely a speculative advantage to the tower company. Their defense that it might eventually be a beneficial project rings hollow. The tower would be aesthetically inappropriate, being placed dead center of a treasured rural area, within the rare wetlands of the Tinmouth Channel. It is not something Tinmouth needs or wants.

I am a resident of the Town of Tinmouth and I oppose ITW's proposal to build a radio tower. I am very concerned about such a tower's effect on the Tinmouth Channel, a class 1 wetland, Vermont's designation of highest protection for this natural community. This tower would be out of compliance with the Tinmouth Town Plan and Telecommunication Bylaws, and I ask that our Plan and Bylaws be respected. I also understand that this tower would be of minimal benefit to the residents of Tinmouth.

Having served on Planning Commission, Select Board, School Board, And Land Trust for many year, this project goes against everything that all aspects of the town have fought to preserve. We are a beautiful small rural farm community in a classic Vermont hill, ridge, valley setting. This proposal adds nothing to the community but an eye sore

The Town Board and Planning Commission of Tinmouth advised that the project does not comply with the Town Plan and Telecommunication Bylaws and should not move forward. In addition, the visual impact of a 160 ft. tower will degrade the beauty of our town's scenic landscape as one approaches the center of town passing over the Tinmouth Channel, whose pristine beauty should be preserved. There must be somewhere else that the tower can be located that minimizes the visual degradation.

ITEM : ITW tower proposal in Tinmouth.
I wish to point out to the PUC that ITWs proposal in Tinmouth is very unpopular among the residents of this town, is unnecessary since we already have adequate coverage , does not comply with our town plan which does reflect the desires of the people and threatens the welfare of the Tinmouth Channel conservancy district. The states desire to facilitate the build-out of the wireless system can succeed efficiently without wasting recourses adding redun

It is hard to imagine a much worse location for this "radio tower". The proposed location is across from a historic cemetery, bordering a protected wetland. Our town takes both historic and rural preservation seriously as our Town Plan evidences. This does not fit our plan and is unwanted. I also question how it can be shown to benefit the public when the Petitioner claims that it does not have customers lined up to use the service. Question whether this is really meant to be a cell tower.

The proposal will take away the view for many – so many people just travel through our countryside because of the unharmed beauty. It is against town plan, zoning and has not been sanctioned by our selectboard. This will impact the Tinmouth Channel for hunting/fishing, etc. Has anyone even inquired if there is an endowment or some safe guard if the town ends up having to dismantle this or will it become the responsibility of the town – ie taxpayers??

?I oppose this project. The proposed tower will cause an undue adverse aesthetic impact on Tinmouth's rural landscape. It fails to comply with our Town Plan and Telecommunication Bylaws. The applicant has not adequately proven that alternative sites are not viable. I urge you to deny the Certificate of Public Good.

If one can see the tower from a historic cemetery or building/s on the national register, it should not be permitted. It will destroy the "feeling and setting" of that historic structure or cemetery, perhaps rendering it ineligible for the historic register. It's vital that rural vermont towns protect their viewsheds as well since small businesses rely on Vermont' rural character to attract customers/guests. I am always awestruck driving that route to Tinmouth....don't destroy the beauty of it.

As a resident of Tinmouth I am opposed to the proposed ITW Tower. It does not comply with our town plan and I fear for our natural resources and the Tinmouth Channel. It would be located in the gateway to Tinmouth across from our cemetery. I would ask that the PUC look further into the effects such a tower would have on our little town. Thanking you in advance.

The proposed communications tower in Tinmouth, VT on Rte 140 does not appear to comply with the Tinmouth Town Plan and Telecommunication Bylaws. It does not meet local standards and should not move forward. Also, it creates an eye soar next to our cherished cemetery and Tinmouth Channel. I live on East Road in Tinmouth and m property abuts the beautiful Tinmouth Channel. I very much treasure the beauty of our town and do not believe the tower will bring any benefits and will create an eyesore.

I drive through the Timouth Channel area almost daily. It is a uniquely beautiful area that will be marred by the installation of an unsightly tower which will be obsolete in a few years, just so a few can make money in the meanwhile. We have too much of this type of short sighted behavior in our society, and it should stop.

I am opposed to ITW's proposed tower. It would be too close to the town center and also create a visual blight on a unique and beautiful landscape. There is no guarantee that people of Tinmouth would benefit from this metal monstrosity unless cell venders rented space from ITW, and ITW would be the greatest benefactor of that! A town plan has been thoughtfully created to protect our town from this sort of thing. I find it incredibly inconsiderate that this document is not being respected.

The tower project seems to ignore much of the what is specified as acceptable in our Town Plan and local zoning code. Tower is too tall, too close to homes, school and residences to be a viable asset to the town. There is no guarantee that this tower will provide a vendor of cell service to rent space on this tower, and positioned where it is proposed, is also too close for a cell service antenna to be at a safe distance from residents also, this tower proposal is very speculative in its goals.
